Some Vocations and unique abilities can be unlocked by gaining the favour of Maisters. These are masters of their respective Vocations, and can be found in various locations around the world.
How to Use Effectively
The Magick Archer Vocation is best used in a hybrid support and DPS role. Its unique combination of skill types allows it to heal, shield and buff allies while dealing consistent damage to enemies and applying a wide range of status effects to disrupt them. The goal of the Magick Archer is to support its Pawns, allowing them to perform optimally when the Magick Archer is controlling the battlefield.
Weapon Skills
Irradiant Orb:
Create an illuminating orb that lights up dark areas. This can stick to walls or enemies, and may cause burning. Upgrade to Candescent Orb to increase the duration. Charge to increase duration.
Frostseeker Bolt:
A homing arrow that deals up-front damage and has a chance to inflict Frostbite, freezing enemies in place. Upgrade to Frosthunter Bolt to increase the duration of Frostbite.
Remedy Arrow:
Release an arrow that heals allies group members that it connects with. Fully charging the arrow will revive a downed Pawn. Upgrade to Recovery Arrow for a faster charge.
Ricochet Seeker:
Fires an arrow that bounces off surfaces, repeatedly hitting enemies along its path. Can be upgraded to Ricochet Hunter, which increases the duration and therefore the damage.
Sedative Bolt:
Hitting enemies with this attack will build up Sleep, which will accumulate to eventually apply the status effect, debilitating them. Can be upgraded to Soporific Bolt for lower charge time.
Sparkchain Stake:
Create a stake of lightning that will deal damage on the ground. Create another nearby to consistently deal damage to enemies between the two. Upgrade to Boltchain Stake for longer duration.
Hailstone Bolt:
Launch an ice projectile that increases in size and damage the longer you charge it. Upgrade to Arctic Bolt to drastically increase the damage of the fully charged hit.
Vimtaking Arrow
By sapping the health of the target, Vimtaking Arrow will heal nearby Pawns. Upgrade to Lifetaking Arrow to increase the range of the heal between the target and the Pawn.
Flamefang Arrow:
Similar to the Explosive Arrow, this ability will explode on impact, but the direction can be slightly controlled once fired. Upgrade to Blazefang Arrow to increase the range.
Bartizan:
Allows the user to create a shield around a Pawn, which will deflect damage back to their attacker. Upgrade to Fortalice, which extends the duration of the shield.
Sagitate Downpour:
Send forth a volley of magical arrows to assail an enemy, dealing high damage. Upgrade to Sagitate Avalanche to increase the number of projectiles, and therefore the damage.
Martyr's Bolt:
Charge to drain your own maximum health and increase the damage of a single, devastating shot against a target. This drains the loss gauge, meaning the health cannot easily be regained.

Core Skills
Conversion:
Allows the user to choose between Pinpoint Volley or Rivet Shot, which will adjust the arrows fired to either perform multiple targets or one target respectively. Pinpoint Volley can target multiple points on a single large enemy, rather than multiple enemies.
Climactic Arrow:
Increases the overall damage of both Rivet Shot and Pinpoint Volley. This damage increase demands that the arrow is released at the sweet spot, when the bow is fully drawn, and not before or after.
Scopic Sight:
Increases the lock-on range of attacks. Can be upgraded to Tracker's Sight, which further increases the amount of lock-on targets.
Protracting Arrow:
Releasing an elemental skill will, for a brief amount of time, imbue further skills with the respective element, dealing more damage and applying status effect build up.
Quickfire: A standard attack which fires three arrows forwards. This can be used while pinning, clinging and moving.
The Magick Archer Vocation is designed to be incredibly versatile, allowing the user to offer an excellent degree of group support and damage by targeting enemies with powerful attacks and debuffs.
The Magick Archer can deal consistently high damage with its attacks up-front, while continuing to provide damage sources by applying status effects such as Burning, Frostbite and Sleep. These powerful effects will not only deal damage to opponents, but support the group by debilitating enemies, allowing for unhindered attack.
The group support doesn't end there, though. The Magick Archer has the ability to provide healing and shielding to allies effortlessly, and can even perform a powerful attack to instantly resurrect downed allies!
