Find out how to unlock this Vocation and all others HERE

Welcome to the Warrior Vocation for Dragon's Dogma 2. Vocations are a very important factor that will determine the skills and weapons available to your character, influencing your overall approach to combat situations in Dragon's Dogma 2. Some Vocations and unique abilities can be unlocked by gaining the favour of Maisters. These are masters of their respective Vocations, and can be found in various locations around the world.

How to Use Effectively

The Warrior Vocation is a prime frontline combatant that is capable of delivering truly devastating attacks. This is a hybrid role Vocation, since it has the ability to boost its defences and gather the aggression of enemies while still dealing huge amounts of damage. Choosing the optimal moments to attack is important, since the Warrior's moveset is slow, despite its per-hit overall power.

Weapon Skills

Bellow:

Let out a roar which causes nearby enemies to target you instead of your allies. Upgrades to Roar, which causes the ability to increase its taunting potency if used repeatedly.

Gale Slash:

A multi-use skill that is designed to strike faster and faster with correct timing. Upgrades to Windstorm Slash for further speed. If correctly timed, perform a more powerful slash.

Knoll Breaker:

A charged attack that strikes upwards to knock opponents down or off balance. Upgrades to Mountain Breaker to significantly increase the damage and staggering potential.

Rending Sweep:

A charged attack that is designed to strike in an area, allowing you to damage multiple enemies easily. Upgrades to Razing Sweep for significantly more damage when fully charged.

Goring Lunge:

Charge forth and deliver a powerful blow with a follow-up move that adds a secondary stab, knocking enemies back. Upgrade to Ravening Lunge that costs less stamina.

Ladder Launch:

A group utility skill that allows the user to launch allies into the air, which gives them an opportunity to cling to opponents. Upgrade to Catapult Launch for greater speed and height.

Revivify:

Allows the user to instantly recover from sleep, burning, frostbite, silence and unconsciousness. Upgrades to Inspirit, which consumes significantly less stamina.

Surging Strike:

Best used from above the enemy. Jump and plunge your weapon down to deal damage and follow up damage to staggered enemies. Upgrades to Diluvian Strike for more damage.

Savage Lash:

A charged attack which delivers a powerful single blow against the target. Can be upgraded to Indomitable Lash, which will deal more damage if the skill is fully charged.

Skyward Sunder:

A charged attack which causes the user to jump and slash at the same time. Can be upgraded to Heavenward Sunder for much more damage when fully charged.

Tidal Fury:

If the user takes a hit right when this skill is used, they retaliate with a massive counterattack. This parries and avoids incoming damage. Upgrade to Tidal Wrath for a bigger parry window.

Arc of Might:

Consumes the entire stamina pool of the user when this skill is activated to deliver a massive single attack. The attack deals more damage based on how much stamina is consumed.

Core Skills

Stonesplitter:

An overhead slash that deals a lot of damage and allows for a follow up strike if used against a staggered opponent.

Barge:

Allows the user to perform a shoulder barge forwards against an opponent with a chance of staggering. Lowers the chance of the user staggering while this attack is in action.

Repulse:

Any charged attack that is unleashed at the same time as an enemy's attack connects will parry the enemy attack, causing no damage to be taken and staggering the attacker.

Mighty Sweep:

Sweep your weapon from side to side. This can be charged, and while charging, decreases the user's chance of being staggered.

Chain of Blows:

Empowers Mighty Sweep to allow for an additional attack to be added into the chain of sweeps.

Bulwark:

When charging any attack, the user's defence will be increased, reducing damage taken from enemy attacks.

The Warrior Vocation serves as one of the most fearsome combatants on the battlefield in terms of both raw damage output and group support. Warriors are capable of dealing some of the highest damage in the game, and have some excellent group utility that is similar to the Fighter.

While Warriors do deal some mighty damage, they do have one drawback, and that is their incredibly slow attack speed. The Warrior's attacks come out very sluggishly, but this lack of speed is compensated for by the Warrior's capacity to decimate enemies quickly and easily.

The Warrior Vocation has access to some great group utility skills. Taunting enemies to focus solely on the Warrior allows the rest of the group to perform their jobs unhindered, and having access to lots of stuns and knockdowns is particularly useful for incapacitating enemies. The Warrior also gets bonuses to damage resistance while performing certain attacks, which is great for the up close and personal playstyle.
